Terms and conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and Family Fund Inc., which does business as BlueCheck, for using BlueCheck. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
About these terms
BlueCheck is a work app for small businesses: projects, contacts, calendar, boards, time tracking and reports at app.bluecheck.tech. These terms cover the app and the BlueCheck connector that lets AI apps such as Claude work in your account. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Family Fund Inc., and "you" means the person using BlueCheck.
By creating an account or using BlueCheck, you agree to these terms. If you use BlueCheck for a business, you agree to them for that business too, and you confirm that you are allowed to do that.
To sign in, you tick the box on the sign-in screen that says you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. You can't sign in without it. You tick it each time you sign in, so you agree to the terms as they are on that day, and we keep a record of which versions you agreed to and when.
One BlueCheck account also works with other BlueCheck services, such as BlueCheck ID. Those services can have their own terms.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use BlueCheck.
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Each person signs in as themselves. Don't share your sign-in with anyone. To give someone access, invite them to your team.
- Keep your password and sign-in codes private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- If you think someone else got into your account, change your password and email support@bluecheck.tech right away.
Emails from us
We send the emails you need to use BlueCheck, such as sign-in codes, team invites, billing notices and notice of changes to these terms. They come for as long as you have an account.
News and updates from BlueCheck, such as new features, tips and offers, come only if you ask for them: by ticking the second box on the sign-in screen, or in Settings > Profile. Saying no doesn't change anything you can do in BlueCheck.
You can stop news and updates at any time in Settings > Profile, or with the unsubscribe link in any of those emails.
Teams and access
The person who starts an account is its owner. On the Team plan, the owner and admins can invite people, set each person's access level and choose which apps each person can open, and each person on the account is one user on the plan. The Basic plan is for one person.
The owner is responsible for the account: for everyone they let in, for what those people do in BlueCheck, and for paying for it.
Work that anyone adds to the account's shared projects and boards belongs to the account, and it stays there when that person leaves the team. So does the mail in the team's mailboxes. Someone you remove from the team loses access to its apps and keeps their own sign-in.
A board can be shared with people from other BlueCheck accounts. Everyone on a board can see what is on it.
Free trial and payment
- Each new person gets a 30-day free trial of the Team plan, once. You don't need a card to start.
- After the trial, the owner picks a plan. Basic costs $14.99 per month for one person and includes boards, contacts, projects, the calendar and your own timer. Team costs $24.99 per user per month and adds inviting people, who clock in with their own timers, time reports, and connected AI apps and the CLI. Prices are in US dollars, and the account owner pays for everyone on the account. The Pro plan is not on sale yet; we will add its terms here before it is.
- The owner can change the plan in Settings > Billing at any time. A bigger plan opens its features at once. A smaller plan closes the features it doesn't include at once, and keeps the work you made with them. To move to Basic, the owner first removes everyone else from the account.
- We take payment through Stripe. If the owner subscribes during the trial, the first charge comes when the trial ends. With less than two days of trial left, Stripe charges the card when the owner subscribes.
- The subscription renews every month and charges the card on file until the owner cancels it.
- On Team, adding or removing people changes the monthly total. Stripe prorates a change of plan or of people made partway through a month on the next invoice.
- Prices don't include taxes. If a tax applies, we may add it to your invoice.
- If we change the price, we tell the owner at least 30 days before the new price applies. It starts with the next billing period after that.
If a payment fails, the owner can update the card in Settings > Billing > Manage billing. If the payment still doesn't go through after Stripe tries again, your team can't open the apps until the account is paid up. Your work stays in the account in the meantime.
Canceling and refunds
The owner can cancel at any time in Settings > Billing > Manage billing. The subscription then runs to the end of the month already paid for and doesn't renew. If you cancel during the free trial, we never charge you.
We don't give refunds for part of a month, except where the law requires it. When you remove someone or move to a smaller plan partway through a month, the credit for the rest of it goes on your next invoice.
Canceling doesn't delete your work. To delete your account, see Ending your account.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you and your team put into BlueCheck: projects, contacts, cards, comments, time entries, files, voice notes and the rest.
You allow us to store, copy, process and show your content only as needed to run BlueCheck for you and the people you share it with. That includes passing it to the service providers named in the privacy policy and, when you ask, to an AI app you connect. We don't sell your content and we don't use it to train AI models.
You are responsible for your content, and for having the right to add it. That includes information about other people, such as your contacts' names and details.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Acceptable use
Don't use BlueCheck to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it
- add content that you don't have the right to share, or that is fraudulent, threatening or harassing
- send spam, including invites to people who didn't ask for them
- send bulk or unwanted mail from BlueCheck Mail, or mail that pretends to come from someone else. Each mailbox may send only so many messages a day, and mail to an address that bounced or reported spam is not sent
- get into accounts or data that aren't yours
- upload viruses or other harmful code
- overload or disrupt BlueCheck, or copy data out of it with scripts or bots. A connected AI app you authorize is fine.
- copy, resell or rent BlueCheck, or build a competing product from it
In BlueCheck Mail, add only a domain you own or control. We remove a domain that is not verified within 3 days, and a team is responsible for mail sent from its domains.
Don't test BlueCheck's security without our permission. If you find a security problem, email security@bluecheck.tech.
Dictation and connected AI apps
Dictation turns your speech into text, and it can make mistakes. Read the text before you rely on it.
Mail sorting, including AI sorting, and the bill details BlueCheck reads from mail, such as amounts and due dates, can be wrong. Check a bill with the sender before you pay it.
On the Team plan, you can connect an AI app, such as Claude, to your account. The app works with your access, and it does what you ask it to do. That can include creating, changing and deleting items, and, if your team uses BlueCheck Mail, sending email from your addresses, which these terms treat as mail you send yourself. Most items it deletes go to the trash, but some are gone right away. The connector guide lists what the app can do.
You are responsible for what you ask a connected app to do, and for checking what it changes. The company that makes the app sets its own terms. We aren't responsible for what the app says or does, or for how that company handles what it receives. You can disconnect the app at any time.
Other companies' services
Some parts of BlueCheck use other companies' services, such as Stripe for payments, Google if you sign in with Google or connect a Google account, Resend, which carries the mail of teams that use BlueCheck Mail, and Anthropic for AI sorting in Mail. When you use their pages, such as Stripe's checkout, their terms apply as well. We aren't responsible for services we don't run.
If you turn on Calendar for a connected Google account, BlueCheck creates, changes and deletes events in the Google calendar you pick, and changes or deletes events of the Google calendars you sync when you change or delete their copies in BlueCheck, from the app, the connector or the CLI. Deleting a copy of an event you organize removes it from your guests' calendars too. Deleting a project or contact also removes the blocks you made for it from your Google calendar.
Changes to BlueCheck
We keep improving BlueCheck, so we may add, change or remove features. If we remove something that many people rely on, we try to tell you ahead of time.
We work to keep BlueCheck running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be down for maintenance, or because of problems we don't control. Keep your own copies of files you can't afford to lose.
Ending your account
You can stop using BlueCheck at any time. To delete your account, email support@bluecheck.tech from the address on your account. The privacy policy says what we delete and what stays with your team.
We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect BlueCheck or other people. When we reasonably can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
If we stop offering BlueCheck, we tell account owners at least 30 days ahead, so you have time to ask for a copy of your data.
Disclaimers
BlueCheck is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond what these terms say, and we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Reports, time totals, estimates and weather in BlueCheck help you work, but you are responsible for checking them before you bill anyone or make a decision based on them.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we knew they were possible.
As far as the law allows, our total liability for all claims about BlueCheck is limited to the greater of what you paid us for BlueCheck in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Claims caused by your use
If someone brings a claim against us because of your content, or because you or your team broke these terms, you agree to cover our resulting losses and reasonable legal costs. We tell you about the claim as soon as we can and let you take part in handling it.
Governing law and disputes
If you have a problem with BlueCheck, email support@bluecheck.tech first. We can sort out most problems that way.
The laws of the State of New York govern these terms, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute about these terms or BlueCheck goes to the state or federal courts in New York, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you rights these terms can't take away, you keep those rights.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change takes away rights you have or adds costs, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using BlueCheck after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using BlueCheck and cancel your subscription.
General
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about BlueCheck.
- If a court finds part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer these terms to someone else without our written permission. We may transfer them if BlueCheck is sold or merged.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, such as outages at our providers, natural disasters or war.
